ABU DHABI, 25th September, 2022 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Riding Exhibition (ADIHEX 2022) will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the distinguished relationship between Japan and the United Arab Emirates.
The event, which is considered the largest of its kind in the Middle East and Africa, aims to strengthen relations between the two countries and to develop and improve them to better meet common aspirations based on intercultural dialogue.
The upcoming 19th edition of ADIHEX 2022 is hosted by the Emirates Falconers’ Club between September 26 and October 2, 2022. Officially sponsored by the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, the Houbara International Conservation Fund and the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, where the event will take place. Other sponsors include industry sponsor “Hunting Weapons”, Caracal International LLC, visitor experience partner, POLARIS – Specialized Sports Equipment, and event sponsors including Smart Design, Royal Tent, ARB Emirates, in as the Official Automotive Partner, and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry as the Supporting Partner.
To celebrate fifty years of friendship between the United Arab Emirates and Japan, the JODCO INPEX Group will present several activities that reflect the true essence of Japanese culture, including falconry shows, traditional Japanese tea ceremonies, tea making falconry equipment, works of art representing Japanese and Emirati heritage, as well as numerous musical and artistic performances. In addition, samurai sword smiths will also participate in the exhibition, and children will have the chance to experience the taste of falcon and horse-shaped candies, prepared with passion by an expert confectioner. In addition to horseback archery, attracting enthusiasts from various cultural backgrounds.
On this occasion, Majid Ali Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee and General Secretary of the Emirates Falconers’ Club stressed the importance of keeping falconry alive by interacting with falconers from other cultures and said that language and cultural barriers have never been an issue in this regard. Falconry is a universal sport that provides falconers with enormous feelings of joy and happiness, wherever they are in the world. Falconers have a lot in common. The charm and beauty of this sport bring us together.
He added that the relationship between Emirati and Japanese falconers began about a quarter of a century ago, but the unique friendship between the UAE and Japan dates back almost half a century. Moreover, he described their visit to Japan as beautiful and unforgettable. They were warmly welcomed by the Japanese falconers who showed unparalleled hospitality and kindness.”
Al Mansouri explained that Japanese falconry derives its value from Japanese culture, which is so unique, and Japanese traditions are reflected through the impressive set of falconry tools. Japan has distinct schools that teach falconry using traditional Japanese methods, and through our visit we had a unique opportunity to dive deep into Japan’s ancient cultural heritage.
In addition, Al Mansouri invited the Japanese community in the UAE, which numbered more than 5,000 people, and the many Japanese tourists to visit the exhibition and enjoy the various shows and events held there.
It should be noted that the friendly relations between the United Arab Emirates and Japan have been strong for fifty years. However, in recent years, this cooperation between them has evolved into a more advanced strategic partnership.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were first established in May 1972. Japan is one of the first countries in the world to establish diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates. Since then, these historic relationships have continued to evolve and have generated immense growth and prosperity for both parties.
Officials from both countries are eager to strengthen and expand cooperation to build a better future. The two countries have strong relations in various fields, including culture and arts, traditional and renewable energy, technology and space programs, as well as scientific and academic exchanges. The UAE and Japan will remain strong partners in dealing with various international issues, as well as the strength of their trade and economic relations.
