Evan W. Wilcox, of Russell, Pa., Passed away on Friday December 31, 2021 at the residence he was born 97 years ago.

He was born December 21, 1924. Evan was the son of George C. and Margaret White Wilcox.

He graduated in 1942 from the old Lander High School where he was a valedictorian. During his high school years he was a member of the FFA-Future Farmers of America.

Evan has been a dairy farmer his entire life. He took over the family farm in 1957 and was the owner / operator of Pineton Farms, which his family still operates.

He was a member of the Warren County DHIA-Dairy Herd Improvement Association. He served on the local and county FSA, a locally administered government program. He has also served on the Falconer Agway committee, which serves our local regions. Evan was a member of the Lander-Farmington Grange as well as the Akeley Grange, where he was an active member and served in many Grange officer positions. He was a member of 4-H and later was the 4-H leader for the 4-H Garden Club. Evan has served on the Warren County Extension board of directors and served as chairman of their executive committee. He had also served on the former board of directors of the school in the North region. He was a member of Wiltsie Community Church.

Evan was extremely proud of his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a real family man.

He is survived by his four children: George C. Wilcox and wife, Nancy of Erie, Pa., Howard Wilcox and wife, Maryann, Craig Wilcox and wife, Carol and Carmen Wilcox, all of Russell, Pa., 12 grandchildren; Scott (Meredith) Wilcox, Shaun Wilcox, Ryan Wilcox, Samantha (Josh) Snyder, Dustin (Erin) Wilcox, Kristen (Kirk) Guiher, Drew Wilcox, Lacey (Scott) Schuler, Lindsey (Justin) Kramer, Mandy (Eric) Dickerson , Kelsi (Charles) Boyles, Meggi (Cody) Brown; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, just 26 days ago, Dorothy Nelson Wilcox, who died on December 6, 2021, whom he married on November 8, 1947, in Warren, Pennsylvania; and one brother, Lloyd F. Wilcox.

A private funeral service will be arranged for the family’s convenience at Donald E. Lewis, Inc. Funeral Home, 304 East St., Warren, Pa., With Reverend Todd Venman, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Foster Cemetery, Lander, Pennsylvania.
