She walked straight in, unflinchingly scratched the opossum like a house cat, and strode out of the bar to pick up the wild animal and set it free.
Fulton is no stranger to encountering wild animals.
“I’m from Alaska and used to go camping with black bears hanging around my campsite,” she told NBC New York. “I think it was just instinctive, I just went up to him and said, ‘Hey, I know you’re scared’…and I was like, ‘Okay, I think I’ll just gag you and take you out because that would be the least painful for you,” Fulton recalled.
The woman is now called the hero of this night.
