Performers are invited to apply for an upcoming talent show at Universal Hall in Findhorn.

The venue invites people over the age of 16 to submit three-minute audition-style videos of themselves in action.

This can involve acting, acting, singing, music, dancing, or any other performing arts.

The top entries, chosen by a panel of judges, will then receive mentorship from a professional in their field before a live performance at Universal Hall on September 9.

Additionally, videographers and photographers are also invited to submit three-minute videos to showcase their work.

Again, the very best will be chosen to be mentored to produce new videos that will be woven into the show using the venue’s cinema-size screen.

A spokesperson for the venue said: “We believe this will be of interest to aspiring artists and performers who want their work to be seen in front of an audience now that the events industry is picking up.

“Maybe some people are looking to launch a career or change their current career to something more rooted in performance and the arts.

“We received many great submissions and mentors last year and are looking to build on them in 2022.”

The show is titled In the Spotlight, after being called Show Off.

Among the performers last year was local DJ/producer Duncan Falconer (AKA Acutek).

He says; “It was a great experience. Being able to meet local creatives and play a different style of set helped me push my limits.

“I feel like it has improved my performance and I’m looking to develop that further.”

Submissions will be accepted from March 23 to May 20.

A professional mentor already involved is Scottish actor Scott James Kyle, known for his roles as Ross in Outlander, Clancy in Angels Share and Corporal Stu Pearson in the film Kilo Two Bravo.
